Help! Looking to get plastic surgery. I don't know where to start..

Hello!

I'm looking to get excess skin removed (tummy, thighs, arms, buttocks) and breat implants. I'm just not sure where to even begin. I'm 25. I don't have a lot of money and was hoping to have insurance help me with the removal of excess skin. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on where to begin?

Thanks so much!

When I was ready to start with plastics, I asked my surgeon for the names of a few plastic surgeons who have worked on his patients.

I also asked at my local WLS group.

Then, I scheduled 3 consults -- got quotes from each and then made my decision.

As far as insurance paying, I think that if you have well documented history of rashes and problems that the excess skin is causing, that you might get some help with the panni --- but not likely to get insurance to pay for thighs, arms, buttocks -- and certainly not to pay for breast implants ---- so, start saving!!!

Thank you! I figured I'd be paying for most of it, if not all of it myself. I'm just very new at this and didn't know where to even begin. It's so expensive!

I started with a call to my insurance company.  I asked if reconstructive surgery after weight loss was covered and got the go ahead to have a consult covered.  My insurance is covering the panniculectomy (the usual) -- but, my plastic surgeon thinks that I'll be happy with the results.  I hope she's right.  I'll be saving for hips & thighs.....

I definitely need a tummy tuck! One of my concerns is that I've switch insurance since my surgery. But I guess I won't know for sure until I contact them, huh? :)

Thanks so much!
