How did you finance your PS?
I listen to suze orman and she says to never borrow from your 401K. But I'm sure she would also tell me not to get a 2nd mortgage which is what I will probably do so I can spread the payments out longer. The medical loan co's are good if you can get them paid off before the 0% rates expire but I understand their interest rates are outrageous.
I did find one company who's rates start "as low as 5.9%" which isn't too bad. I'm not sure if they ever approve anyone at that rate or not.
I thought about home equity, but we've only lived in our house 2 years and I'm pretty sure we owe too much on it......too close to the appraised amount as the value may have gone down some due to the economy.

I did a 401K loan. YES - YES it's not the BEST thing to do since the money you have out on loan is NOT making interest. BUT ... it's for a fairly short time and you are paying yourself back with interest. There is no credit check or anything and you can borrow up to 50% of what you have and get your hands on it within a few days.
Every 401k has some different rules so check with your plan.

A medical loan from a place like carecredit will hit your credit report, and might lower your score. (my understanding)
401k loan has no credit check required and it doesnt show on your credit report, doesnt affect your score.
My 401k website has a calculator on it that shows the effect over time of borrowing the money, since you dont earn interest on the amount you borrowed while you're paying it back. In the long run it really wasnt that bad.
The downside to the 401K is that most require you pay them back within 60 days if you are to leave or lose your job. If you dont, it counts as a disbursement, and then you owe taxes on it.
Suze Orman is against the 401k loans, true...but she always says "people first, then money, then things"..so I know she would want me to put myself first on this, right?

I will need to find a loan company or something as well too because I don't have a 401k, and don't have any other way to finance. If anyone knows of companies to use for loan besides care credit please let me know. Thanks.
