tt "anchor stitch" pain

I had a TT with extensive hernia repair seventeen days ago.  I am healing well, trying not to do too much, but yet walk around.  About five days ago I started having deep, burning pain if I moved a certain way on the right side about four inches in from the end of my incision.  I called the surgeon and he said  there was an anchor stitch there, a deep stitch that I have irritated and it is inflamed.  I should take it easy and take ibuprofen for the inflammation.  I've been doing this and it seems to help...but it is still very bothersome and I'm just wondering how long it's going to take to heal.

I'm having trouble sleeping because of it, I cannot move at all in bed for fear of the pain and I'm uncomfortable all night long.
