Hey All-

Saw my surgeon today for a 2nd follow up from my breast lift/brachioplasty which was about a week and a half ago.  He is really plased with the results.  I had been concerned with some of the puckering and swelling but he said all is as to be expected and will resolve on its own.  I see him again in 2 weeks and I'll discuss scar treatment with him at that time; at the moment I'm just using bactroban and gauze.  He didn't use any drains at all and he determined that the swelling I have now is just tissue swelling not fluid accumulation so no need to put one in which I had been a little apprehensive about.  I have noticed that the swelling has gone down a bit in the past day or so.  He also doesn't have me in any compression garments although he said I could try if I wanted to, but he doesn't feel it is necessary.

Anddddd we booked my lower body lift for March 3rd; I had hoped to do it a sooner, but he wants to make sure I'm healed up really well before proceeding and I trust his guidance.  Soooooooooooo excited!!!

Thanks again to you all for the great advice I've gotten here!  I plan to post some after pics tomorrow- I'll post when I do so you all can see if interested.  Looking at everyone else's before and afters has been so helpful to me during this process.

Congratulations Christine!  I had my BL/BA 6 days ago and am also wondering about the swelling...

I am in a bra that's kinda like a sports bra that fastens in the front.  I'm to keep it on 24/7 (sans showing, laundry) for 3-4 weeks.  I also didn't have drains (YEAAAA!).

He wants me to come back into the office on Wednesday and said he wants me to wear a "band" - guess it goes around you to help reduce the swelling???

Now - a question for you.... did you feel as though your implants "moved"?  My left one feels like it moves around (even though the Dr said it isn't), but the right one doesn't.  I can only sleep elevated because sleeping too flat, I think, makes them settle where its not comfy then when I get up in the morning they "fall back into place", which hurts like a b**ch...  Does that make sense?  Did you have that happen too?  Sleeping on my side is just plain out of the question....

Hey Jody-

i replied to your PM, just seeing this reply now sorry I missed it.  No implants for me, my surgeon just filled out the breasts with my own drooping breast tissue when he lifted the breast, so i cant comment on that.  But, I too am wearing a similar bra and he said i can use front closing sports bras for now if I'd like- i see him again in 2 weeks and i guess he'll tell me what he wants me to wear then.

Although the pain has mostly subsided now and I'm just sore I havent attempted sleeping on the side, I know my body just isnt ready for that but ugh I miss it- I hate sleeping on my back!  The first several days i slept very elevated with a 'husband' pillow and several other pillows to prop me up- now I just use a few to elevate my head.

hope your're feeling better soon!

Hey, I sent you a friend request with the PW to my plastics album if youre interested in seeing before/after pics.  I'm happy to asnwer any questions you have.
the recovery has  been easier than I expected and pain is definitly manageable with pain meds.  Now most of my discomfort seems to be stemming from the swelling.  the welling actually went down a bit over the past 2 days, but today seems to be up again so I'm feeling a bit worse compared to yesterday, but nothing terrible,
