What to wear home from hospital?

I'm jumping the gun a bit here -- but after your abdominoplasty, what did you wear home?  With the drains, can you still put on a pair of loose pants?

Silly question, but I haven't rebuilt my wardrobe --- and will want to wait for a few months after surgery to do it, so I don't own much.

Thanks!

Yes, loose pants will work perfectly.  Like loose sweats or something with a drawstring.  Good luck!

LOL, I wore pajamas home - I wasn't going anywhere, just home to recuperate. I figured who am I dressing for? Clearly I just had major surgery and wasn't going out on the town. Secondly I didn't want to stress myself by having to change into Pajamas later when it was bed time.

For the first week I had to bump up a pant size to fit the swelling, binder and 6 jp drains - so keep some larger sizes in a convenient place so you can grab them when you are trying ti figure out what fits.

I'm still wearing my 1X & 2X pj's -- and might have an "oops".   I was hoping to make some loose yoga pants work for me.

Might be time to break down and get jammies!

I borrowed a pair of cover-up pants from DD (nylon sports pants... she wears them over her office pants when she coaches skating and doesn't have time to change into actual skating clothes). Worked nicely over my yoga pants, and were toasty warm in the cold winter.

Inexpensive camisole from Old Navy clearance under the binder, and a button-down shirt over it all.

Slip on shoes.

Thank you - I hadn't thought about something for under the binder.

Someone - (or many someones!) here recommended a long t-shirt.  When I checked with my surgeon's nurse, she suggested a camisole because it can be pulled up from the bottom and doesn't need to go over the head in case stretching the arms up after surgery hurts (even if it's from the anchor or breast work).

So far, so great!  Best of luck with yours -
