#$%#@ scheduler!!
Uggghhhhh! Ok, I know my surgeon's think their scheduler is just fantastic. However...
When I scheduled my BR/BL/brachio/LBL/anchor, she told me that insurance would cover nothing but the panni. She did have my approval letter, which said that the BR/BL/brachio/LBL was covered (only the anchor was not). I faxed it to her again, highlighting where all of those things were noted. She then scheduled me.
We're now in the process of scheduling my thighs, which were on the same blasted approval letter. She called me 2 days ago, said they were not covered. I told her to check the fax I had sent her in SEPTEMBER because it was there. She said she'd get back to me.
She got back to me today, telling me it was NOT there, so she's submitted for approval. I got out the letter (from the insurance company, mind you) that she had had from them in September and faxed from me in September, and read to her that the thighs were covered. She then found the letter, and said "Oh."
She does not know what will happen if the insurance company now decides not to approve something they already approved. But I can predict that if my thighs are not covered after her idiocy, she may be in very small pieces in the parking lot.
Just a vent - it will all work out - but ugggghhhh!

I wish I knew! Seriously, I know how the BR/BL/brachio was authorized - I had a torn chest wall muscle, and the breast specialist at my ob/gyny recommended that, and the insurance company agreed. There were also rashes and infections, but it was the muscle that got the arms covered, as the specialist stated that unless they were done, the arm skin would continue to drag the muscle out of place.
I know how the LBL got covered - rashes, scarring, sticking, all the usual.
I have NO idea how the thighs got covered, and neither do my surgeons. But we're going to do them before the insurance company changes its mind!
Good luck getting yours covered - I hope it happens!
