TUMMY TUCK AFTER LAP BAND SURGERY???
Hi,
I had lap band surgery 4 yrs ago. I am havingtummy tuck surgery on Thursday to get rid of the skin from my weight loss . Has anyone on here had a tummy tuck after lap band surgery. I was just wondering if the stress or swelling are going to make my band super tight. I bought yogurt, pudding, ice cream, mashed potatos and soup just in case but I was curious if anyone knew ahead of time.
Thanks, Lori

I asked my bariatric surgeon about plastic surgery (I had brachioplasty and a breast lift about 8 weeks ago) -- he said that he normally does not need to adjust the band.
I asked about TT, because I will probably have one later in the year -- I am worried that the PS will have to move my port --
My bariatric surgeon offered to have a phone consult with the PS prior to the surgery -- and said that we can even arrange for him to be on-hand (I would pay him)
As far as post-op eating, you will probably have to do liquids/mushies for a few days after the TT just because of the anesthesia and to minimize nausea. I usually lose my appetite after surgery for a few days.
Best of luck - I hope that your surgery brings you exactly the results you are looking for!! I can't wait to hear about your experience.

lap band 3 years ago. it MUST be emptied prior to surgery. It used to be located under my bra about an inch. since surgery it is now near my belly button. you must NOT have any fill in band according to all 6 consults I had and of course my band dr. agreed. feel free to ask anything else!!

I am two years out from lap band (surgery 12/08/2008) and three months out from extended tt (October 14, 2010). I did NOT have any fill removed pre-tt. I even had more fill added at my 2-year check-up in December. I now have 8 1/4 cc in a 9 cc band. You may feel more restriction post tt due to the compression garment so having soft foods on hand is wise.
