Upper Body Lift

Has anyone had the Upper Body Lift and Arms?  How long was the recovery and how bad was the pain?  Should I expect drains?

Thanks
Kristi

My procedure was not called an Upper Body Lift --
I had brachioplasty and a breast lift.

My surgeon took the breast lift about 1/2 way around my body --- to remove quite a bit of 'bra bulge'.

I had drains placed in each armpit during the surgery --- I had an outpatient procedure.
I went to the surgeon's office the next day and they took the drains out.
He had originally said that I would not have drains, but decided it was best to put them in for a short time.

I took about 10 days off work (had surgery the Thursday before Thanksgiving, went back to work at my desk job the Monday after Thanksgiving).

I was able to drive a few days after surgery ---- off pain meds in about 3 days.

I had breast reduction/breast lift, extended around my sides and up the shoulder blades, and brachioplasty (other things at the same time, but those ae the ones you asked about).

Pain was not nearly as bad as I feared, but very limited arm motion for the first 4-6 days.

I went back to work in 2 1/2 weeks, but needed a day off to sleep that first week to sleep.

Well, I had that done at the same time... and still went back to work in 2 1/2 weeks!  I'm a glutton for punishment!

Seriously, other than difficulty lifting my arms over my head, NO big deal at all.

WOW - I was out for 6 weeks.  However, I did have some complications, but I enjoyed the time off either way.  I was hoping for another 6 weeks.  LOL

My recovery and scaring is different tnan yours will be.  I did not have my arms done.  My UBL was a breast lift with auto-augmentation and a back lift.  I have no current pics, but may be able to take a few of my back.  I have no back fat and I am not thin.  The back incision was not painful, but I am not afraid of medication.  :)  Loris

Drains are dependant on the surgeons preferance - i reckon they would be removed after a day or 2 but they would be removed until the surgeon can see that there isn't any fluid building up... It will also depend how much skin is being removed - the more skin the more major the procedure...

i think 2/3 weeks for returning to work is sufficient (providing it isn't hard manual lifting work)

Good luck with everything :)
