Congrats on ur surgery. I had a LBL with lipo also and had 3 drains. The first 2 came out on day 6 and the last came out on day 9. But i was draining much less than you are. My advice though is to keep them in as long as they are draining because i have heard horror stories about seromas and having a needle stuck in to drain the excess fluids.

mine stayed in for 3 weeks and I ended up with cellulitis and on antibiotics.  The nurse accidentally nicked the tube so my PS pulled out the drain at 3 wks.  Apparently I still needed a drain because I ended up with about 6 oz of built up fluid in my mons that got seriously infected and was put back on antibiotics.  My PS told me I was close to "hospital-level" infection, but I didn't realize how sick I was.  He cut 2 slits in my incision 10 days ago and they are still draining but slowly closing up on their own.

If you are draining that much you are absolutely not ready to have the drains pulled.  I was draining 30-40 ml/day at 3 weeks out.  A lot of people (that didn't have WLS) have much less drainage and get their drains out at 7-10 days. My PS said it was because of the way my body had accomodated all that bulk.

I keep hearing different things, but some PS do not even use drains!  I had mine out today, my TT was on the 4th.  I was still draining a lot on each side, 45-60 depending on the day.  I do feel better that they are out. less uncomfortable for sure!

The two drains I had from my ba/bl were taken out before I left the hospital and the other two from my lbl were taken out on day 7. I was draining very minimally by then.
