I'm having my TT at the end of the month and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on compression garments for post Fleur-de-lis TT's.  Suggestions for: healing, comfort, hospital stay, anything!  Thanks!!

I was sent home in a medical grade binder that my surgeon provided. I wore that for about 3 weeks and then moved into a compression type girdle made by Flexees. I bought mine at Kohls. They make them with an opening in the crotch. Wearing a t-shirt under the binder makes them more comfortable against your skin.

For healing, I made sure I had laxatives and stool softeners on hand. The pain meds tend to cause constipation. I also had some easy to heat up pre-made food items. Chili, taco soup, egg salad, tuna salad. Just easy to grab items. I also doubled up on my protein shakes. The extra protein helps in your healing. I bought a shower stool for showering. I also had a toilet seat riser but I didn't use it as much as I did with my inner thigh lift.

I was most comfortable sleeping in my recliner for a couple of weeks. A lot of people do fine in their bed, propped with several pillows. It's almost impossible to lie flat with the muscle tightening. I was just more comfortable in the recliner.

My surgeries were all out patient so I can't help much with the hospital stay. I would recommend wearing a two piece loose outfit to come home in and shoes that just slip on. You don't want to be trying to bend over to tie and untie shoes.

That's all I can think of right off the top of my head. Hope this helps! Good luck to you!

Renee is the guru - but I do have one modification to her suggestion. My surgeon suggested a soft t-shirt under the binder too, but I also had brachioplasty, and had difficulty raising my arms to get it on.

A cotton camisole from Old Navy (they're frequently in clearance for about $3) worked much better... I could pull it up over my hips before putting the binder on, and it actually looked cute under a button-down shirt if we went out.

Button up shirt and really loose pants for leaving the hospital!  And try on the undergarments before surgery - they will still fit.  I was surprised at how hard they were to get one.

Check with Lori Black on the DS board.  She had a fleur-de-lis TT.

I had a fleur-de-lis, and I also wore some granny panties under my binder.  No matter how I sat or how I moved, it always seemed like the bottom of the binder wa****ting a bad spot.  After the first week or so, it got a little bit better, but I liked having the panties on to keep it from rubbing.
