Lower tummy after LBL

It's been a little over a month since my LBL and I feel like a new woman - clothes fit sooo much differently and I feel great with just a little ab soreness when I sneeze or cough hard. I go back on 1/17 for a f/up but I wanted to ask you all...

my lower tummy (below the bb) is puffier than the rest of my abdomen. it's not skin but it just kinda protrudes when I look at myself sideways in the mirror. Am i just bulkier there in general? Is this normal or should i be asking for a revision?

I wear the support type of garment, too...input??

Be happy.

I don't know the answer as to why your lower abdomin protrudes more - it could be your anatomy. It could also be that he did more work below the belly button on the abdominal muscles leaving more tissue to swell as part of the normal healing process.

Good to see you're healing nicely - I'm a little ahead of you at a little over 9 weeks and I rarely feel any soreness now in my abdominal muscles.

This appearance sound similar to how my stomach looks.  I asked my surgeon yesterday if it was swelling or pretty much when I'm at. It sounds like that is pretty much where I'm at.  I'm still very pleased with the result but do hope the lower half will flatten out a bit more.  Let us know what you surgeon says.

I'm 4 weeks out so if your surgery was more recent then likely more of it is swelling in your case.

I too have a bulge where my belly button (and hernia repair is) would have been.  I am 6 weeks post-op and am going to ask about it today.

I just asked my PS this at my last visit and I am 5 weeks post op.  He said it takes a full 3 months for your stomach area swelling to go down.  I have that same pooch area as well and my sides are puffy too.
