How long before suture line lays flat?

It still looks like I have a rope or tube around my waist!  When can I expect the scar to lay flat?

I didn't really look at my scars at the beginning - they were covered with dried blood and glue so I couldn't really see the actual wound. I started to carefully look at them at about 2 weeks when the glue/blood started to flake off - my scars were flat.

If you had WLS - how did those scars or any other scars heal? How previous scars healed is an indication on how your plastic surgery scars will heal.

I think it depends on the surgeon and how you were sewn back together.  I too have the "rope" around my waist and my PS said it would take approximately 8 weeks to be flat.  Not everyone is sewn together like us.

And the scar around my hips is variable... some parts are flat and almost invisible, and some parts are rope-like. Just as Alice's surgeon, mine said it would be about 8 weeks before the rope-like parts flatten. I am finding that the silicon strips help with it. (Yes, I love my silicon!)
