Calling Dr. L - or anyone else who has this knowledge...

When a surgeon refers to the removal of 300cc, how much does that come out to in terms of pounds?  I've read one online comment that said it equals to around 2/3 of a pound, and another that said 10 pounds - which I say is totally incorrect.  I don't think that 300cc implants would equal to 10 pounds.  I don't know anyone who would want to add THAT much weight to their chest! LOL! WOW!

Thanks for your input! :)

Always,
Rose

well 1000cc is a liter which is about 2.2 lbs so 300 cc would be about 2/3 of a lb

OH simply rocks!!! And I LOVE you all - my support group friends! :) Thanks so much for that information. I asked because I had lipo on my left arm. It's always healed larger than the right arm after brachioplasty. It's VERY sore and swollen, but I know that will take a little while to go away. I was just wondering if after all is said and done, that this time the left arm will at least look very close in size to my right arm. My ps is awesome. He is so determined to have both arms look right. He wasn't the original surgeon, so he's correcting the problem! I really love him for all he has done for me.

In inches, my left arm was about 3/4 to 1 inch larger than the right arm. We'll see in a week or so what the results are. I'm praying for the best because I'm getting tired of dealing with it; however, I do not want to look lop-sided like I do now.

Thanks again you wonderful people! Lol.

Hugs,
Rose

Ain't metric great ?

What Cleo's mom said   is how I explain it to patients.

Of course, it really depends on 300cc of what you are removing or adding300cc of fat will weight slightly less than 300cc of water.

And surgeons don't go by weight, but rather by the expected shape or contour to be acheived.

For example, 1000cc of lipo off your hips may result in a much more dramatic shape change and loss of inches than 2.2 lbs. of simple weight loss.

Oh My!?????  Well, I stated a little earlier that it was from my upper left arm.  When my surgeon was finished, I looked at what was drawn out and it was 300cc in the container - maybe a tad bit more, but a lot less than 400cc.  My ps is trying to get the left arm the be the same size as the right.  The left upper arm is a bit tighter in the sleeves.  Drives me crazy.  I just want it to be over with and move on.

Thanks so much for your wonderful expertise Dr. L!  You are AWESOME!!!

Best regards,
Rose

I had the same problem you did with my arms being different sizes.  When I had my thigh lift on October 30th the surgeon did lipo on my upper arm - it's taken about 2 1/2 months for the swelling to completely go away and I finally have arms that are close to the same size and I can wear a size smaller top.

OMG Proudauntie, YOU JUST MADE MY DAY!!!!  I haven't wanted to worry or stress over whether or not the lipo would work, and every time I get dressed and not see any difference (it's only been 4 days), I would feel a little sad.  I know that I still have swelling in my arm and it's very sore and tender.  But your comment has set me on cloud 9.  I just want both my arms to be "close" to - if not the same size.  I feel so much better now.  I go back in for my post-op this Friday and he'll probably removed the sutures that he used to closed the little opening where the needle went in.  He also fixed two little dog ears on the inner and outside of my left breast where he did the lift last July.  Those corners are still swollen and tender as well.

I would love to get a thigh lift, but that will be something that I would have to look into much further into my future.  I'll have to save up a lot for that one.  I just wear the spanx and only me and the Lord knows what the real picture looks like. Lol.  How are you doing with your lift?  I pray that your healing is coming along very smoothly, and you're happy with your results.  That's so important!

Again, thank you so much for sending your reply!  Honestly, I have a huge grin on my face right now.

Blessings to you,
Rose
