Reality for "US"...Dr. LoMonaco, we need u!
Recently scrolling through my tv channels i came across this reality show called "Bridalplasty"...It is a show about brides-to be that compete in challenges to win a "perfect wedding" that includes PS procedures from their dream list.
After a contestant has won a challenge the PS and colleagues perform one of their wish list procedures such as TT, lipo, Breast augmentations, veneers, etc. I was like wow!
So I was thinking, since I am a fan of Big Medicine and Dr. LoMonaco I said to myself wouldn't it be nice to see a show like this for us post wls patients.
Not competing for a procedure, but something like extreme makeover where maybe 5-10 people could stay in a house or ranch over the course of a few months and a team of renowned Plastic Surgeons could put us back together again...lol.....I mean TT, breast lifts, inner thight lifts, whatever.
Maybe sponsors could add spa treaments and shopping sprees and a chef while we heal...You know wls is not a walk in the park and it has saved our lives literally from co-morbidiites..We are then left with massive amounts of skin and clothes that do not fit right and uncomfortableness in our bodies.
How many would be interested in this concept? I would....Dr. LoMonaco chime in and if anyone knows any upcoming shows like this for casting calls contact me...I'm in! I'll be your canvas!

We really need a LIKE Button. That would be fantastic, especially since so many patients were self pay for their surgery and that makes it even more difficult for those patients to afford plastics. I probably feel like mos though and would rather have extra skin than all the extra fat. I would be happy just to have my arms done.

Hmmmm...maybe we should write letters to TLC and other stations that have that kind of show. I would think it would be good tv because the results would be more dramatic than someone that didn't lose 100+ lbs before PS...and they would have that whole weight loss backstory. It's funny. My mom and my aunt keep telling me that I should contact a show like The Doctor or Dr. Oz to try and get profiled so that I can at least get my arms done. I reply that they've done these stories already and no one is interested in me. But shoot, if I could have someone pay to do all the work I need IF the surgeon was top-notch, I'd be all over it.

Hi all. Great idea, and I have been barking up a ot of trees since Big Medicine made its debut. I learned that the producer of Big Med is now doing "Half-Pint Brawlers" which has been a big success.
Doing these shows is very expensive, and it's tough to find money/sponsors to cover the production costs (think $40k plus per episode). My guess is a show like Big Medicine appeals to a relatively narrow audience, and sponsors want big time exposure.
Look at what's out there now in terms of reality shows making it big..."trashy" is my kind word for it. Do we really care that much about Kate, the Kardashians, and Lohan ?
Like my buddy John Mellencamp says "But ain't that America, U.S.A., baby ?"
Natalie Merchant has the best take on it though:

Maybe a meeting place like the old Big Medicine page on Facebook would attract some attention if new and interested individuals were to get together.
