when did you start wearing jeans from a LBL? Update too!

Well, I am 4 1/2 weeks out from LBL, arm lift and breast lift.  Arms are the only thing that prevents me from being myself.  I now have cellulitis in my left elbow area that hurts like hell.  Been on antibiotics since Thursday night so if I don't see an improvement by tomorrow afternoon, I will call the doctor.  Hubby thinks it is slightly less.  We marked my arm with a permanent marker so we know where we started.  Good news is it never got worse.  I have come to the conclusion that I think it was the lipo that has made my arms hell for me.  The burning, stinging, seromas, drains having to be put in and then removed and then cellulitis.  I did not have lip anywhere else on my body except my arms.

Anyway, so when do people start wearing jeans again??  I am so tired of baggy sweats.  I want to feel like a woman again.  I don't know how I could possibly wear jeans when by the end of the night, my stomach is 1 1/2"   bigger due to swelling.

I started in jeans at 2 1/2 weeks out after LBL. 2 of 4 pairs are no problem at all, 1 pair depends on that day's swelling, and 1 pair (the highest waisted pair) hurts so I'm not wearing them yet.

If I put them on early in the day along with my compression, it's no problem until after dinner, and at that point I want to be in my comfy jammies napping on the couch anyway.

I wish you luck with the cellulitis - I've had it in my face, and it's MISERABLE!!!

I started wearing jeans about two weeks after my LBL.  When I first started wearing them, I still wore the binder underneath and it was kind of uncomfortable because it was too bulky. I'm four weeks out now and I still wear shapewear for compression including with jeans.

I'm so sorry to hear you have cellulitis - hope heals quickly so you can start to enjoy your new and improved arms. Sounds like you've been through the wringer with your arm lift. I had lipo with my arm lift and I guess I am lucky because I didn't have any problems - but I was more scared of lipo than the arm lift itself because it is so disruptive to the underlying tissues. I have some burning and stinging too but I also have it in my LBL where I didn't have lipo so I think that's related to the nerve endings and swelling.

I know how you feel about wearing the baggy, sloppy sweat pants. I started wearing dress slacks with a zipper about 2 weeks post op -I could have done it sooner but I had too many darn drains to hide in the pants. When I was down to 2 drains I could hide the drains and fit the binder in my slacks (LOL sounds like something obscene hiding all these things) but I wore a boy friend cardigan over top because I felt self conscious even though DH and DD#2 kept telling me no one could tell. Have you tried your jeans? You may or may not need to bump back up a size temporarily but I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I had my surgery Nov 5 and I'm still wearing my binder under my clothes during the day to keep the swelling down.

I started wearing jeans in week 3-- and was OMG surprised at how different they fit. I actually went thru my closet last night and tossed a few pair as they are so ridiculously baggy now I won't wear them.

I never knew that 5.5 lbs of skin could make such a difference. I had a pair of American Eagle Skinny jeans that I had gotten off a coworker back in the fall and couldn't even get them halfway up my thighs. Um, I wore them suckers last week and about fell over.

I'm sorry you're having arm issues -- that's next on list!

Be happy.

I hated the way jean or even press pants fit until last week. I was 7 weeks out from a TT.  I just could not wear pants and a compression garmet it was to uncomfortable. So until now I have been wearing lots of dresses to work and leggins and sweater.  I wear pretty snug jeans ( size 4) so I waited till I could ditch the compression garmet and they finally felt more comfortable to me,  Still not as comfortable as before, the numbness in my tummy makes them feel really weird.

Hi Kim M., I was wondering who you used for PS? I'm from Indianan as well and am just starting to look into it. Do you know about what it costs for your surgery?  I am probably looing into an LBL and breast reduction/lift.

Hi Annie- I used Dr. Bergaman and I really liked her.  She is great.  My scar looks awesome. I am still in swell hell but that's not her fault.

I had a full TT and it was $5300. The quote for a BA and lift was around $7000.  I had a double hernia repaired with my TT so I decided the recovery was just going to be to much if I had the BA too, and I am glad I waited.

Good Luck and feel free to message me any questions.
