Belly Button.... Yes or No??

I remember a woman who posted about a year ago after losing her belly button and feeling she lost an important connection with her mother. I'm glad I have my belly button and now look at it in a different way --- not something to pierce or show off, but as the beginning of life when I was nourished in my mother's womb.

Thank you for all your responses!!!  I am SO excited... I have an appointment with my surgeon on Monday ... so I will see what her advise is!!

I really wanted them to save mine and they did, its all new and looks cool.  I like to wear a two piece swim suit and I was one that felt like I might look weird.  Also I have a new baby and thought when she gets to the age of where is yours mommy I want to be sure to have one to show her.

I still have mine.  I worked really hard to get this body back in shape and next month I'm starting belly dancing lessons so I'm glad it's still there.  Honestly the surgeon never said anything about getting rid of it so I didn't have to make a decision. To each his own.

My surgeon warned me that they might have to remove mine, or might be able to "rebuild" it. I told him to do whatever he needed to - but that if they rebuilt it, I would really love to have one that could be pierced. (Yeah, I'm a goofy person).

I now have a pretty new belly button swirled around my original stalk, so the connection remains and this summer, I'm going to look into piercing.

I would want to keep it.

I wanted to keep mine and I did. It looks much nicer now....cute and small and very shallow. My belly button before was very deep and stretched out. I love my new one!

I kept mine too, but I would have been okay if I had lost it.  I was very surprised that he was able to save my original.  Sometimes they just make you a new one.  That is what one surgeon told me he would have to do.  When I return for the rest of my surgery, I am okay, with or without!

I didn't have lipo with my surgery on my tummy, but I did with my brachioplasty.

I opted for the NO BUTTON look. I asked my surgeon ifthe BB was need he said only if you want a BB RING. I DECIDED THEN AND THERE lose it!. Well  I'm 60 years old and in a wheelchair my crop top & hip hugger days are only a distant memory now. But even at my age this gave me a better quality of life. I had aRNY 1/11/2007 i've lost about 200 lbs. Now that I've had a panniculectomy and breast lift It has enabled me to get around better and look better but, health was my first concern looking good was a nice side effect!  Hang in there. GOOD LUCK!!

Dr Sauceda lipo'd my muffin top before doing my LBL.  It's all flat now.  We didn't talk about it but he made me a belly button.
