Well, they always say you have a twin somewhere in the world...I guess you must be mine! LOL

I'm sorry your surgery was so tough.  Thankfully, I didn't have any complications.  It's just the recovery that is kicking my butt!  Apparently, I'm not a very patient patient!  I have tried using a lot of different things (flexees, bike shorts, etc) but nothing offers the same type of support as the compression garment.....so I'm wearing a pair of cotton shorts underneath it and that seems to help some.  I went to the PS this AM and he said everything looked fine.  He didn't think my thighs looked very swollen but they look huge to me!  How are your scars?  My scars are really hypersensative and I have an intense burning sensation...especially in the groin.  The PS said this was normal as the nerves are rejuvenating and I need to massage them.  The right side is worse than the left.

I'm going back to work tomorrow.  I'm hoping all will go well as I took an additional 1.5 weeks off and I don't have any more time to take.

Here's wishing the both of us a speedy recovery!!

Thank you everyone for your informative posts. I had a medial thigh lift on Aug 23, 2011. I have had a lot of surgeries and this recovery has been tougher than most. I'd put it right up there with my bi lateral knee replacements as far as difficult recovery.

Yesterday 6 days post op I finally had a BM . That helped a lot, but today my legs are very swollen; up 5 lbs in  weight from yesterday. They feel very tight. Guess I was on my feet too much. Go back to Seattle for my followup tomorrow. Not yet wearing a compression garment. I'm wearing soft exercise shorts over the incisions. I hate my inner thighs touching each other. Now that really hurts. The shorts help. Hopefully tomorrow the 2 drains will be removed. I haven't had nearly as much drainage as I had with my lower body lift 4 years ago.

Feeling the pain pill kick in. Any advice on reducting swelling would be greatly appreciated!

My scars are very sensitive!!  I try to keep anything from rubbing them.  My thighs are still very swollen  it's going to take a while for it to go down.  I can't fit any of my jeans yet...I'm trying not to panic but it's hard to see that can't fit my jeans i've been wearing loose sweats.
The scars on my right leg are better than my left!  The incision on my left leg where the hemotoma was is almost closed. My PS told me yesterday that it's going well but if it's not closed by Monday he's going to put a few stitches in it. I'm hoping it closes this week. This surgery has been a challenge for me but I'm staying positive I know by the time spring gets here I'll be very happy with my decision!! Yes I'm thinking about spring as the snow is falling!  LOL
Take care
