Hi everyone........me again.  Still quite anxious but now actually becoming EXCITED for the 1st time since deciding to do my breast reduction and extended TT with "lots" of lipo on Monday.  I cant believe the time is almost here.  I feel prepared ~ thanks to you all.  I do remember reading here about the need for a lanyard ? to hold the drains? - any idea what I am talking about?  Also,  what type of clothes/underware/sleep stuff should I have waiting at home?  Should I begin my Colace stool softener tonight?  How will I walk upstairs when I get home the next day?

Thanks for all the help over the past week or so......I don't know what I would do without this forum in my life now......and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

You will definitely want a lanyard (conference name tag holder worked well for me) for taking a shower.  Most of the time, my drains were pinned to my shirt or binder.   As for clothes, my surgeon's NP  recommended a long t-shirt (tank top) for under the binder and front-closing sports bra (found at Walmart).  For the drive home from the hospital, it was recommended that I have a largish button-up shirt and pull-on, loose tie-on pants like sweats.  My day and night clothese were the same immediately post-op.

I could get up the few stairs into the house initially but I slept downstairs for the first few nights until the squirrels living in our walls made me too mad.

As for stool softener, the surgeon had me take extra Miralax the night before surgery during the mini-fast.

Happy New Year!  Hope all goes well.

P.S. I am 4 weeks out from fleur-de-lis, hernia repair and mastopexy.

Hello!  good luck with surgery.. I am about 12 days out. First few days were rough but each day has gotton so much better.  I am pretty much off all pain meds and have been getting out each day to build stamnia.

The things I used the most was a fanny pack for my drains. I get grossed out pretty easy and the drains were tucked away in a little fanny pack.  Also, baby wipes.. I used these alot for my body face to clean myself up!  Also,  I got a large sippy cup with a lid from the hospital that was really helpful.

I bought a lift chair off craigslist for $75.00. Well worth every penny!  I am now on my regular couch

Best of luck to a speedy recovery!
