Day 11 Update !!

I went to the doctor today and have some good news.  My belly button is still fighting to live and is doing better, although still black, there are some spots that are turning my flesh color or pink and that is a good sign. 

I got my drains out today too which is a big bonus.

I did have a set back on Christmas.  Had a partial bowel blockage that was extremely painful but corrected itself after one hour of intense pain, vomiting, chills, and sweating.  I felt a rip sensation followed by a gush of water deep within my stomach.  My doctor said that was the obstruction breaking though and the water in the bowel releasing like a dam break...weird and painful but better now. 

Val, that's great news that your BB is still hanging on and trying to make it. And getting drains out is always great.

But that partial bowel blockage is scary..... I'm sure you're doing everything to avoid it in the future.

Yes!!! It was rather scary and painful.  I am taking stool softners, drinking more fluids, tring to eat more veggies, added oatmeal to my diet and will get some fiber suppliments real soon.  I also have milk of magnisia (sp).  I am gonna really watch my diet and make sure my bowels stay moving cause I DO NOT WANTA GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN, was soooo not fun!!!

It's amazing what the body can do... I hope your belly button survives- it's trying its hardest.  So sorry about your other issue- scary for sure.
