TT with Hernia repair coming up, any comments welcome
Hi
I've lost 100 lbs w/ a DS surgery about 18 months ago. Now I have to have a hernia repair...it's HUGE, and my stomach is distended from it. Ins. is going to pay for a TT as well.
I've been told I'm going to have a bikini inscision.
I would love to hear any and all experiences, good, bad, ugly, easy....
I'm excited and just a little nervous. :)
Thanks in advance!!!!

Hey Linda! I had the exact surgery you're about to have a couple of years ago. It was great! Yes, it hurt afterward; you learn to move very slowly, sleep sitting upright at first, and have to have help for several days. A recliner to get up and down out of more easily is great.
I had a big hernia, too, and then they removed 5 pounds of excess skin from my abdomen. My scar is from hipbone to hipbone. It's fine; not a big deal, in my opinion. I don't notice it much. I'm just so glad to have that flap of excess skin gone, and the pain from the hernia gone, too. It's great! Makes buying clothes so much easier. I haven't regretted it for a moment. If I can answer any questions for you, let me know!

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice. ~W.D
Weight at surgery on July 26, 2006: 304 lbs
Lowest weight: 147 (157 pounds lost!)
Regain over the past 2 years (2012-2014) - 59 pounds
REBOOTING! :) Working on losing back down to 160 (beginning Jan. 18, 2015)
Thank you for your response! :) I'm looking forward to getting it done. I won't care about the scar...I have a six inch vertical scar from a gall bladder operation and from the DS too, so scars are already there. :)
I'll just be glad to be rid of the "alien baby" (as my SIL calls it! LOL!)!!!
How long did you stay in the hospital? My doc is keeping me one night.
