Complication with updated photos

I am 5 days out from an extended anchor cut tt and went in for a check up yesterday.  My belly button is black.  Like dying.  The rest of the incisions look good, not as stright as I would have liked but okay.  I am worried what I will look like if that belly button dies.  The doctor was really great and said he could make a new one if it didn't survive.  He poked it and it bled some which he said was a good sign but the fact remains I have an big ugly belly button.  Any one ever had this happen and how did it turn out for you?   I go back tomorrow to hopefully have my drains removed and to check on that belly button so I hope it takes a positive turn by tomorrow.  Keep me in your prayers.

Hey Val! You look great!!! I think your lines look great too!! I wanted my doc to take photos of how much he removed but I forgot too!! 

I went in today for my checkup. He removed the drains, removed the stuff that was in my belly button. I think its to big, but maybe when it heals it will be smaller? Hopefully yours will do fine. And I hope they remove your drains tomorrow too, that would be a nice christmas present!!

I found my BB a bit big as well - and it has actually stretched a bit.  My tummy is VERY tight though...My PS told me today that if he does a scar revision, he's gonna fix it...

I am not as concerned about it being big as I am concerned about it being black...I mean really black.  It is the size of a quarter approx which I could live with but BLACK is very odd looking.  I sure hope it turns light brown like me or that the doc makes a new one. I am not excited about going back into surgery but I want it to look normal.  So, I will wait until tomorrow to see what he says.

I get that.  Your suture lines look great.  I have heard of a BB going black from poor blood circulation.  Hopefully the bleeding is a good sign and it will recover.  Good to keep a check on it and make sure things get better, not worse.

My BB was black and looked disgusting now it is beautiful. i think all that black stuff is like glue or something, cause i remember a chunk faling ,out unless it was the scab it grossed me out so bad I didnt really get a good luck.
I remember the first time i went back post op and my PS said the BB looked beautiful and i thought it was gross but he was right and yours will be to it has been thru a lot of trama
