Had my lbl on Wednesday and constipation question!
Everything went well and my pain has been manageable with Percocet and/or Tylenol. Today I feel like I made it over a hurdle and feel more like my old self. The first 3 days were all about coming down off of the anesthesia and then adapting to the swelling, sutures and drains. I have to admit I'm a little freaked out by the circumfrential incision and I'm worried about taking care of it or recognizing any problems like separation or infection.
I know I'll adjust more everyday and become more confident caring for myself. My husband and daughter will be helping, but they are a lot like me when it comes to blood and gore.
Actually, my biggest concern right now is that I have not had a bowel movement since Monday. 5 days! I was taking Ducolax for the weeks preceding my surgery and was doing well with regular soft movements. Now...nothing! I'm taking Colace, Ducolax, eating Activia yogurt and drinking a lot of water. Walking around the house in circles. I'm hoping this resolves itself soon and not too painfully. Any advice is appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't have any advice but I will let you know I am in the same boat. My surgery was also on Monday and still no BMs. They were super normal before surgery so I am not used to this. I have tried about the same things you have. I'm trying not to let myself stress about it too much. I took myself off the narcotic pain medication today since I know that contributes to constipation.
Hang in there...I'll be looking here for suggestions on the topic too.

My surgeon said that protein is mostly absorbed, so if you're eating a high protein diet as you should be, there will be less to excrete.
I'm in pretty much the same boat as you- I've had complications and am still on the percocet six weeks out. I am taking colace and drinking BioK+ (a probiotic) and eating prunes. I find that when I am finally able to go, it takes patience and deep breathing. When I'm successful, I do a happy dance! My longest stretch without a poop was six days.
Best of luck...
