Brachio & TT this Thursday
Hello, All!
My name is Shannon, and I've been a lurker on this board for over a year. I had RNY 13 months ago and have lost 123 lbs. I started at 301 and knew going into this that I would need PS on my arms and gut.
About a month ago I finally consulted a PS, as I have been stable in my weight for over 3 months. He took pics, explained my options, etc. and since he's a reconstructive doc, sent everything in to insurance to see what, if anything they would cover. Last week I got a call from my surgeon's office and HealthPartners has APPROVED BOTH my Panniculectomy AND Brachioplasty!!!!!
From what I've read on these boards, insurance almost NEVER covers arm flap removal!!!! But they are covering BOTH the arms and gut skin and I just have to pay for the upgrade to a full tummy tuck!!!!! WOWOW!!!! I'm wearing a size 10 jeans and am happy as a clam!!! But getting all the skin chopped is just going to be icing on the cake!
So next Thurs 12/23 is the big day. YEEAAAHHH! Thank you ALL for the indirect support I've gotten from reading all about your shared experiences. You can expect me to be posting about my own procedures and be asking questions during my recovery! I have 3 boys under 6, a very supportive husband and work fulltime, but thankful this is being done during Christmas break!
Best wishes to you all!!
