I am hoping to be able to have several procedures at the one time - is this possible/ usual?
- Lower body lift
- Brachioplasty
- Breast augmentation including implants
I have just started looking into this. How can I find out if surgeon's are charging a fair price?

My surgeons will... but highly recommend against it because they feels 1) breast augmentation needs to wait until after the breast lift has healed and allowed the skin to settle in for best results, and 2) they don't enjoy death threats from patients who can't use either end of their body for several weeks if they do it all at once. (it's 2 surgeons who work together).
I'm getting LBL with anchor cut, BR/BL, and brachio on 12-16. Will have thighs and BA in late March/early April. They recommend 2-3 weeks off each time for recuperation, but if it's done all at once, they recommend 8 weeks because you're so wiped out at first.
As far as cost... I'm one of the lucky ones whose insurance is covering everything but the BA, so I can't help you there.

Thanks for the response! I'm so new with all of this. What is BR/ BL - is that Breast reduction & breast lift? Then you will have a thigh lift and breast implants done in March??
How do you decide to do the LBL AND thighs? I thought the LBL already worked on the thighs too?
I guess I was hoping to just get it all done and out of the way...

I only wanted to do Brachioplasty and Breast Lift -- and that was 4 hours worth of surgery.
My surgeon said that he likes to limit surgical time to 6 hours -- so, all of the procedures you mention at once seems like alot.
As far as price goes, I asked my Bariatric Surgeon for a recommendation -- he gave me the names of 3 local plastic surgeons (no affiliation, just names of surgeons that other WLS patients have used).
I called and had consults with all 3 --- 2 of them were free consults, one charged 35.00, but applies the fee to his total cost if you use him.
They were within the same price range, generally, so I felt that I was being treated fairly --- and I chose the one I liked best. He was the most expensive, but had the best reputation.
I paid 8,800.00 for the arms/breast.
Saving for the belly next year!! LOL

Yes, BR/BL is breast reduction and lift, and the implants (if I want them) will be done with a thigh lift (if I want it) in March or April.
That's why we're not entirely sure about the thighs. There might be enough with the LBL, or I may feel (and the surgeons may or may not agree) that more needs to come off.
I fully understand - I too was hoping for one massive surgery, but when the professionals said not to do it that way... I said "ok."

Yes, BR is breast reduction and BL is breast lift.
Each surgeon will have their own approach to reconstructive surgery. Some surgeons work alone and only will only operate on one area. Some patients have health issues which will limit their choices. Other surgeons operate with a team and they will perform more procedures at one time. As you have consults with several plastic surgeons, you will learn what each one will suggest. In addition, there are different theories regarding which procedures to perform together which is why you'll see variation among people posting here.
I had a LBL/ hernia repair and arm lift - that was 6 hours of surgery under anesthesia which is basically the max my surgeon will do. I will have a breast lift and medial thigh lift next.
For many patients with massive weight loss, it's safer to have the breast lift first and allow the tissue to heal completely before going back to have implants - otherwise you may end up with poor results. I've seen pictures where the patient had BL with augmentation at the same time....the breast tissue was too weak, stretched and the implant moved out of location - not a pretty sight when you paid for and suffered for a good result. Of course each patient is different and only your surgeon can advise you properly whether you're a candidate for BL with BA done at the same time or you need to separate them.
I wasn't worried so much about the price....I was more concerned with the quality of my surgeon's work, the years of experience and the fact that he only operates on patients with massive weight loss. Patent's with massive weight loss have special issues - you need a surgeon experienced with these potential problems.
Have you made appointments to see several plastic surgeons?

Thanks for all of the helpful responses. I'm only 5 month's out of WL surgery and have lost 95 lb, was only hoping/ planning to lose about another 12 lb. I haven't made any appointments with plastic surgeons yet because I feel it's too early since I'm still losing. I just wanted to start the ball rolling with learning as much as I can since this is definitely something I want to do for myself when the time is right! I did extensive research before finally going ahead with the WL surgery, and I plan to do the same with this.
Stop over on Dr Sauceda's board. I'm having an LBL, small upper thigh lift, BL, and my arms done at one time, then 3-4 days later a full facelift.
Dr S works with you under an epidural, so you can be under longer as it's twilight sedation.
