Autum,

I had a BL and not a reduction.  I saw your "after" photos, and I can't imagine you not being happy with the beautiful job that your surgeon did.  In my opinion, she did an excellent job.  I know that you live in your skin and you're the one that is experiencing whatever it is your experiening, but I just don't see the problem.  I'm happy that I don't have the "tube sock" looking breast any longer, but I would have loved the have mine look as symetrical as yours do.  I'm almost 6 months post-op and still have kind of a "boxy" look.  I'm grateful however, that I was blessed to have my insurance pay for it, and I won't be asking them to pay again because I'm not quite happy with them.

I would think that your back would feel much better now; but there again not knowing what size you went "from" to what size you are now.  I hope that you get the satisfaction that you seek.

This reminds me of a conversation that I had the other day with a past friend, who I believe through jealousy said to me, "Wow...I wish I could have taken the EASY way out - like you did" - speaking in reference to my wls.  I told her that I by know means "took the easy way out", as she put it.  Many people have know idea of the follow-up surgeries that come with loosing so much weight and loosing it so quickly - i.e. skin that doesn't shrink back, low self esteem because of the saggy and loose skin, the rashes and irritations due to loosing all the weight, etc.  I told her that the next time she has a conversation with someone about wls being "the easy way out", to SLAP THEM - including herself if she says it.  I told her to SLAP them for me!!!  Lol.  Because they don't know what the heck they are talking about!!!

Blessings to you for your future,
Rose

Your breasts are notably smaller after surgery. Maybe you were not wearing the correct size before?? PS is not a guarantee and I have yet to have a Dr. tell me what cup size they will be when they are done. Medically you did get what Ins paid for because she removed a lot of tissue. You are still suffering from pain? maybe it is time to look into other causes for the pain such as nerve damage?

Also a size 32 DD and a size 36 DD are different cup sizes... even though the DD is the "same" if you held those two bras up the 36 would be much larger. Cup sizing is not super accurate. A 32 DD would be like a 36 C

Hi,

I am sorry you are not happy with the outcome of your breast reduction. Is it possible that you still have some swelling? I had a reduction and lift in June and it took almost 4 months for all the swelling to go away.

Just a thought and by the way your results do look great!

thank you for all of your replies! i took measurments b4 and after br surgery and the measurments are the same.  38DD was my size before and now. i was measured at lane bryant and jcp before and after also. i kept a log of these measurments. the only improvement i feel is that they are looking forward and not down! i feel like a got a lift and not a reduction.

she asked me what size i wanted to be and i said a B or small C. she took lots of measurments and pics so i will ask to see her numbers from before and then have her measure now and see what the difference is. i have an appt on friday.

even everyone i know who knows i had this done doesnt see a difference. im just bummed....ive had bog ones all my life and now that i have a small waist would like small twins too! i do appreciate the great job my PS did and yes they do look great but they are just still too big.

and for the back pain...i had surgery from injuries from a car accident and it was my orthopedic surgeons referral to get the BR in the 1st place. i saw him last week and he also said they are still to big!  i know i will have continued back/neck issues from those injuries and the BR was to help eliviate some of that pain which it has helped some and im thankful for that!

i will post friday when i get home from my appt and let you know what she says

I had a breast lift with auto-augmentation.  I went from a 36DD to 38DD back to a 36DD.  I too wish I were smalerl, but with my smaller middle and reshapped breasts I look real nice.  As things settle you will become a bit smaller.  I also think that you weren't in the right size bra before despite the bra fitting.  Even at my largest my bras showed very little cleavage because the cups covered me.

PM if you have any questions.  I know a bit about bras.  Loris.

she did a wonderufl job on your breasts, they r much smaller they dont go down to your belly anymore they look wonderful. when your insurance pays for it the PS has to take a certain amount off the  ins co tells them how much they have to take.
Dont go in blasting her u never know if u may need a revision. usually  the PS do the revision at no charge but the patient has to pay for hospital & anesthesia
Good Luck

I think your breasts look great and I only hope mine come out as nice as your's are after I have surgery. If you are having back pain still then I would say your concern is legitimate. I think if she had went any smaller, they would have looked disproportionate to your body.

I hope my BL looks as good as your BR!  My befores are like yours.  Large hanging boobs.  They do look smaller...

You had your BR in Oct - which means you are still swelling and will be for a while - have you taken that into account? You have to wait until the swelling is completely gone before your will see the final results - I bet your surgeon will tell you this. How much smaller will you be when the swelling is resolved?

I do know that they have to weight the amount of tissue they remove from your breasts and have to meet a certain minimum (which is a fairly large amount) in order to have the insurance company reimburse them. Clearly your surgeon removed a significant amount of tissue. Is it enough to resolve your back pain? Maybe yes, maybe no - and maybe it is not the reason for the continued back pain which I know can be very miserable. The swelling that you're having in your breast tissue due to surgery has also probably caused swelling in the area of your back injury making that area more painful too - and it won't resolve until the breasts are finished healing.

I hope you are happy with the final results  and get some relief from your back pain.
