One week from today...

is when I go in for my TT and BL. I am excited to get rid of this extra skin, but I am nervous/scared. But after reading one of the topics on here, i got this calmness about surgery. With people saying that it wasn't as bad as they had expected. That is very encouraging!

I paid the last amout owed to the doc, got my perscriptions filled, have helped lined up for my kids, christmas shopping done, hair/nails done, and going grocery shopping this weekend. I think I have everything done so that I can rest and recover!

This is so petty, but my only concern is waking up from surgery and someone else waking too and they be moaning, hollering or out of control. I know that sounds crazy, but I want to wake to peace and quite, just let me get awake without any other distractions.

I have been reading on here for weeks, so if there is any last minute things I should do or know please let me know.

I have my sports bra, my button up shirt and sweat pants, socks, slippers, chap stick and moisturizer for the hospital.

I just want to say "Thank you" to everyone that posts on here! The before, during and after!! It really does help out to hear all the stories!!

All the best to you, Tonya! It sounds like you are well prepared. Don't forget the stool softeners- the pain meds can really slow things down. It will be over before you know it.

Congrats on your upcoming surgery!  A small freak out is normal at this time, but it sounds like you've planned well and covered off on everything, so you'll do great!
Do something fun this week, like making cookies with your kids or making fun of everyone else that hasn't even started their holiday preparations!

Being nervous is normal. I was more nervous about my plastics procedures than I ever was about my WLS. You'll be fine. It sounds like you have made all the preparations. Just remember to really push the protein, it helps in your healing. Stay on top of the pain meds and avoid salty food and foods that might cause you gas. You don't want any added bloating if you can avoid it.

Best of luck to you, Tonya. I look forward to your updates!

Thanks Renee!! Yes we ordered 3 cases of protien drinks of which I have already started drinking them.  Hey since your a DS too, is there anything that they have to do differently to us DS'ers as far as anesthesia and pain meds? Like more or less of it since we have the whole mal absorption thing going on?? I guess the anesthesiologist will know, but I was just curious if you knew...

I will give updates probably either friday or sat when I get home and of course I will have hubby take pictures and post them.

Thanks Renee!!

They didn't do anything special or different with me having a DS. The anesthesiologist just wanted to know my weight. I was given percocet after my procedures and it worked just fine for me for the pain.
