What did you tell your kids?

This is  hard issue for me it seems. I'm wanting to do a tummy tuck and a BL. Between my boyfriend and I, we have quite a few kids. 8 to be exact. I'm not worried about telling the 3 oldest(all boys living away at college). But I am wondering how to go about telling the other 5.....any suggestions?

12 yrs old - 2 boys

10 yr old girl

6 yr old girl

2 yr old boy

Do i say..."mommy is having a surgery to fix her belly" and not tell about the BL? I don't want my girls to think of any vanity issues. They are already worried about hair and clothing at such a young age due to the media, tv, even Disney Channel....maybe i can leave the part of my saggy boobies out of the equation?? LOL

Suggestions please!!

Michelle

I told my 9 year old son that my belly was getting in the way of my exercising which was helping make me healthy- we're big on exercising for health now.  He got that, but loved my belly- jiggling it and it used to be his, well, security blanket, for lack of better term, when he was younger.

I talked about what it was like for me to carry around an extra ten pounds all the time and how it was tiring.  I even showed him what ten pounds felt like (big bag of flour). Surgeon ended up taking off 17 pounds (!)

I did not talk about the breast lift, which has since been cancelled.

Hope this helps just a bit..

I wouldnt say anything, the 2 yo & 6 yo, wouldnt undestand anyway. The 10 yo girl when she gets to be 18 or so may want to have her breasts done and the 12 yo boys wouldnt notice or really care.,
I would just tell them u r having surgery to fix your belly after all the weight loss and try to just leave it at that
