I am almost 4 weeks out and I am feeling great. I did notice that my scar is crooked but I was told that is normal based on ur skin elasticity. I'm just thrilled that my scars are so thin and fading really fast. I have one little section that keloidid right by my pubic area but my best friend has been coming over 3 times a week and literally massaging my scars with bio-oil. and she really works withthe scar ro make sure there is no build up in it. and I massege them myself the other times.

My next followup appt is this Friday and hoping he addresses how to manage the scars.  IF not, I am going to get some bio-oil and just start doing it anyway.  I asked him each appt and he just says we will talk about it at the next appt.  I guess waiting for all the dermabond and stuff to heal.  its healed up now so hopefully I can start with something.  sounds like the crooked scar is normal.

No, mine is not crooked at all, but it's bright freaking red.....doing the bio oil every day and massaging....time will tell, although my Doc says there are things he can do for this.

I'm doing awesome!  Not yet 100%  but getting closer every week.  I ran 1/2 a mile yesterday and really felt it in my butt. LOL  haven't got back on the road bike yet but plan to as soon as we have a good day for it.  Will start up with a spin class in January.

Hi Debtfree, I'm glad you asked this question as I noticed there is an area in the front of my LBL that is a little wonky. I asked the surgeon today at my appointment and he explained that it was even in the operating room but they can't predict how various tensions on the skin will pull the scar once the patient is up and about. He said that is something that they can easily fix at no charge once I'm completely healed. Frankly for me I don't think it's worth fixing since it is hidden in my underwear and once the scar is healed I don't think I'll even see or notice it. The scars on my arms are completely even and symmetrical.

I'm still in awe at how fast you've been able to get back to work and exercise and it's still good to see where you are because I'm just a little behind you.

Mine drops a little on the left, just peeks out under a bathing suit, but it has faded and is almost invisible, at a year post op.
