Struggling with cost and guilt and worry!

No. Dr. Livingston did mine under the muscle so the remaining breast tissue is over the implant.

I think you probably know what i'm going to say...LOL  I think you are more than worth whatever it costs for you to feel good about yourself. I have spent a small fortune and I have had those thoughts of guilt about spending the money for other things,  but it all comes back to how happy I am now with myself. I didn't have that feeling for over 20 years of my life. In fact, I hated the way I looked. I can't tell you how much my plastics has improved my self image and confidence. I carry myself differently and I now walk around with a sense of pride in how far I have come. I know people look at me in certain outfits and say she's got implants...but you know what...I DON'T CARE!!! I am very happy with my body and how I look and if other people have issues with it...it's on them...not ME!

I have not had any problems doing my self breast exams and my mammograms are not difficult either.

You have worked hard, Lisa, for the weight loss. There is absolutley nothing wrong with you wanting to finish this journey by having plastics. I don't think you will have any regrets in going for it!

Renee,

You always say the right things!
So do you have saline or silicone under or over the muscle? Sorry if I've asked before, fighting a cold and I'm kinda fuzzy today! lol

I am afraid if I start with plastics I will have a hard time stopping!

Thanks again Renee...

I went with saline under the muscle.

I stopped when I ran out of money! LOL Thankfully I was able to address all of my problem areas. I still feel like it was worth every dime I spent and I'd do it again.

Hi Lisa,

The decision whether to do the breast aug is yours alone to make, but I would tell you to try and not feel guilty to doing something that might make you feel better about yourself.  You went through a lot to get to where you are today... you look terrific btw!  I absolutely related to what you said about feeling thinish in clothes and feeling deformed out of clothes.

Ironic how I used to think all I wished for was to be thin.  And then I got thin and still hated the way my body looked.  For this reason, I've had three rounds of plastics over the past year, including a breast lift/implants.  I went from a 34B to a 34 D, and while my goal wasn't to have huge boobs, I asked my doctor to just make me look proportional (my hips/lower body has always been bigger than my upper).  It's amazing how this helped balance out my body.

I've had mamograms without problems.  The only thing I would caution you on is that if you have very little breast tissue (like I did) then it's less likely your implants will look really natural.  The more tissue you have, the more there will be to cover/hide the implant.  Something to discuss with your doctor...

Best of luck to you!

Michelle,

Thanks for responding! It's nice to know I'm not the only one that struggles with this body issue.

So you are happy with your BA even though you didn't have much breast tissue left?

Lisa

Lisa,
I'm single, so I'm the only one who has an input into my plastics.  I hate my panni, it's not big enough for insurance to cover.  When I met with Dr Sauceda, and I started point out everything that I hate about my body... which was pretty much everything.  Came up with LBL, BL maybe BA, small inner thigh lift, arms and a full face lift.  It's like a roller coaster than I can't stop.  I'd always thought I could live with my arms, they are horrible, but out hand watering the lawn this summer they were swinging back and forth and could have knocked me out.  Said that's it, add the arms too.  I hate my turkey neck, then I asked about the puffy lower eyes, and the drooping upper eyes...the rest is history.

Personally, I feel that my body is worth what I paid for my car 5 yrs ago.  The 401k loan will be paid off before I retire.  I've been very hesitant to date, panni hanging, boobs almost to my navel, huge muffin top... I'm a mess!  But, come Jan 13!!!!

Feb & March are going to be for healing!  No dating while the body is all stitched up.  Maybe worst than the flabby skin!  I think I'll have more confidence after!

I'm not nervous yet, but very excited.  6 weeks and counting tomorrow.  All my calendars have a countdown on them.
