11 days till my LBL! Today started GymFest 2010 and 100+ grams of protein daily! BTW, is it ok to exercise intensely up till Dec 9th (the day before)?

So here's a few ?s:
- when should I start taking stool softeners to have them in my system and ready to work?
- I have my chair system worked out, etc. and have my pre-op on Wednesday to get all my meds filled ahead of time, etc.

I spoke with my surgeon's office AGAIN about staying that first night in the hospital and once again, they are adamant that I go home unless I have complications so that I will be doing.

At dinner on Saturday night, both women in the two couples we were with had tummy tucks and I was almost in tears by the end of dinner listening to how miserable I am going to be. What if I can't tolerate it? I'm terrified! I know that I will LOVE the results but geez, I'm still sore from my BL/BA back in June!

Be happy.

Good luck - you'll be fine. You'll be able to tolerate it - yes those muscles are painful for the first few days but you'll have a binder on and if you need to cough - grab a pillow and hold it tight to your body and you'll be okay. And remember the results are worth it. LOL

I exercised up to two days before surgery - when you exercise, as part of the body's normal activity, those muscles get inflammed and the body breaks them down as part of the preparation to building them back stronger.... I didn't want any of this going on while I needed to heal from surgery so I rested my muscles.

I did a full bowel prep so my digestive tract was completely empty. I also found it difficult to eat for a few days (surgeon only wanted me to drink fluids those first days) so I didn't have a BM for a few days and by that time I was fine. I was given a prescription Senna C laxative to help keep me regular for the first week. Because my diet is full of fiber and I didn't need pain meds I didn't take any stool softeners.
