Compression Garment question?
Hi Gang, Just curious...
My compression garment after abdomnioplasty really does make me feel better. I know swelling can last up to a year. How long did most of you continue to wear your compression garment? I mean, what is the average? I know everyone is different, just curious if this is something I should wear for the next three months, 4 weeks, etc.
I am only 10 days post op so I am sure I will be in this thing a lot longer.

Good question and I will be watching the responses too. I am 4 weeks out and wear mine all the time except for bed time when I switch back to the binder. Only because my compression is so tight and at night I am so swollen that switching to the binder is more comfortable while I sleep and the swelling goes down overnight anyway. I might try switching to spanx during the night though because it might give me more support than the binder. I understand the other poster saying she feels safe in it. I do too! I will most likely wear mine longer than the 6 weeks my dr. said.

I'm 8 weeks out and still wearing mine. I could switch now and have tried but going to the bathroom in a non medical grade CG is a pain in the butt. You can only pee in a regular girdle and I hate dragging that thing up and down. It's just easier to keep wearing my original garment and it's so comfortable to me.
