Life is too short to get all cut up LBLs
Lbls ...yuck! It's all so risky and painful. . I don't know what I was thinking when I thought it could be done. Butchers do this to slaughtered cows. LBLs are about knowing how to butcher meat that isn't dead . Meat that keeps on living afterwards ie. flanks - rumps- shanks -pork bellies -and so on. LBS and thigh lifts a really new concept and I feel one should ask other medical professionals what they think about the concept before trusting the advice of plastic surgeons only.

I'm three and a half weeks out of a difficult LBL, and I can't say as I disagree with you too much right now. I have a feeling I'm going to come around and be thrilled, but right now I feel like Frankenstein's Monster.
(eta- the surgery went great, but I had post-op complications that have hampered my healing.)
Hey Lisa, I too had complications, major ones and I questioned what the hell I was thinking having it done. Even though I'm not super happy with my results, I'm still glad I had all the skin removed, it was so bad. I needed to have something done.
I hear it's common to run into some sort of complications with an lbl, which makes sense, because if you think about it they are pretty much cutting you in half!
No, it's not a natural thing to have done, but really neither is wls or any plastics if you think about it. But we do it to improve our health, and our self image.
I wish you all the best with your recovery and healing!

Oh really??!! I had my LBL/BL almost 8 weeks ago with Dr. LoMonaco and am feeling great...not pulled too tight and have been back in the gym since 3 weeks out. I've had little to no pain and never even took the narcotic pain meds prescribed to me. I'm so sorry you've had such a horrible experience, but not all Plastic Surgeons are "butchers". And yes, I paid a pretty penny for what I got, but it was well worth every last dime!

Yeah it was Al Aly MD and Dr. Albert Cram. They must not have even looked at me before they started in on me. Nothing they did had anything at all with the way my body slants and bends. Al Aly is now in Irvin, Calif practicing at the university there. I had my surgery the same year that they began teaching their method to others.
I can understand how a person might end up like this if they had been mauled to the groin by a bear or by badgers and emergency surgery had to be performed to close the wound but not in an elective surgery after several pre exams , preconsults and medical record reviews. I am total creep now. I have to work for 9 hours today slouching back in my chair with weight on the tippy edge of my tail bone the whole time so my skin won't tighten across and dig into my little sharp pelvic bones like piano wire. Thanks for nothing guys.
I can only think that because I didn't have a network of professionals behind me like many bariatric patients probably have that my doctors felt free to try dumb experiment on. I feel that I've been attacked by wolves or something. I hope soon something will rupture and I can die and be out of this trap.
Good luck to all who feel they need this type of radical surgery. There should be a network of other medical professionals watching out for your welfare.
