How long in, drain tubes?
I had 6 when I had my LBL & Brachio. the arm drains were removed @ 2 days post op before I left the hospital. The next 2 in my groin were removed at my first post-op visit at 10 days. The next drain was removed at 3 weeks. The final drain and the bain of my existance wasn't removed until week 6 and that's because I fudged the numbers a bit to get it out. Probably would have been more like 7 but I just couldn't wait any longer.
Great to know! Thanks for all the advisement.
My three drains are all draining less than 10cc's some even less than 5. There is one left that still does the occasional 20cc. I hope I can get these puppies out sooner than later. Sure is hard do hide the fact I had surgery with all these plastics hanging from my body! :)

I'm three weeks out today and have three drains left from my LBL. One dried up, I believe prematurely, and so am left with the three that are putting out about 150-200 ccs per day. I am on blood thinners which is causing the excess leakage.
I have an appointment on Friday, but I don't see him taking the drains out anytime soon. He did do a needle aspiration on Monday, for a large hematoma on my thigh (in the area of the failed drain.)
I'm on the long end of drains, but someone posted that they had drains still in at 5 weeks.
I had extended tummy tuck and had 2 drains -- 1 was in for 1 week, the other in for 2 weeks. I felt like a new woman once they were both out!
Timing on removal depends on how much drainage is coming out and the color of your drainage. If taken out too soon, you could develop seromas which could cause your incision to open back up or have to be drained. You don't want to go through that, so the irritation/discomfort of the drains, while it drove me personally crazy, is worth it in the end.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I had 3 of the four out on 8 days post op. They were no longer even draining. He left one in that is draining very old dark blood, which he said was odd but it keeps draining so we will leave it in at least until the two week mark which is the date of my second round (BA/BL and chin lipo).
