What kind of sugery did he suggest you have? Are you going to have muscle tightening too or just removal of the pannus? Did you meet with other plastic surgeons? I saw three and chose the surgeon I felt comfortable with and who had the most experience with massive weight loss patients.

I had a Lower body lift with hernia repair and arm lift and I'm thrilled with the results = it's so nice not to have all that hanging skin and I'm looking forward, when I'm out of the binder and the swelling goes down, to find out what my final size will be.

Well my insurance will only pay for the panniculectomy so thats what im getting lol! its better then nothing if i can just get teh hanging skin gone and thats what it will do at least what i researched on it and the bariatric docotor is actually doing it. which was a shock i thought only plastic surgeons did it lol.  Congrats on your body contouring  how long have you been in the binder I bet it will be so awesome i wanna how much the skin and fat weighs that they take off hahah. im sick i guess.... grats on your journey :)

I had a panniculectomy done in July.  I was just happy to get the excess skin off.

I was knew that it would be over 5 lbs and my PS said it wouldn't be.  Um 6.5 lbs is what was removed.  I had her take pictures of it and also of my most recent surgery.   I don't think it's sick at all LOL   It's documenting the journey we are on.

Hope all goes well for you!!!

Blessings,

Nina

I just had a complete LowerBody lift on 11/11.  I am so pleased I don't know what to do. My recovery has been a breeze thanks to a little thing called the ON-Q pain pump. It goes home with you and I had it in for 5 days. I have been one of the few to say I literally have not had one ounce of pain. The only thing that actually bothered me was the drains. i had 3 of them. Once they were all gone I have been moving around with ease. NOw I still can not stand straight up yet and I do tend to have what we call SWELL HELL, but other than that it's been a breeze. I actually interviews 4 plastic surgeons and they all said basically the same thing about the panni removal. They said I would not be happy with just that. Fortuunately my insurance actually approved the extended tummy tuck and i paid for the back portion which was outer thigh lift and butt lift with auto augmentation.

That ON-Q pump is a good thing isn't it!!!    I am  6 days out from my reduction mammoplasty, I am  going to be really happy when I get the drains out!  I had 2 when I had my panni done, and I thought that was bad enough.  How did you deal with 3?! LOL

Girl it was god sent that painpump. The drains I cruelly hated but I knew it was the price of beauty. Once the tubes where out o felt like a new woman.
