I had huge batwings and was having legitimate problems with rashes in the armpits because there was so much extra skin with a lot of stretch marks there (which made it sort of hang in folds), but even so (and with pics) the insurance company still said it was not medically necessary so I had to pay for it out of pocket.

My brachio was not covered by insurance but I saved to have it done and I am glad that I did.  I have been sensitive about my arms since my teens and was even moreso after losing the weight.  My surgery was in May so the scars are still fading.  I'm less self conscious about the scars than my old bat wings.

Please check with your insurance company. My insurance covered the basic brachioplasty and I paid out of pocket to extend it below the elbows and down my sides to address the excess skin that was overflowing my bra. I didn't think insurance would cover it but they did and covered a breast lif/reduction at the same time.
