Anyone have a medial thigh lift and TT together?
Hi ~
Glad you asked this question - I'll be seeing my surgeon on Monday, so far scheduled for a ventral hernia repair and TT that will involve two surgeons, on December 28th. I was thinking about asking about a thigh lift at the same time, but after reading the above, I'm questioning whether that is a good idea even if the plastics person would perform it. I have fibromyalgia and any surgery has always been so much more painful - the most being the open RNY. Unfortunately, my hernia is right on that incision, so they will be opening me back up right there. The TT was a no-brainer as I'm at the weight I want to be and have so much extra skin. My thighs are so bad, though, and swimming is my main exercise. It's so embarrassing in a bathing suit now. The other thing, I came to find out that my FMLA through work wouldn't pay for time off due to plastic surgery. They will be covering the hernia/TT, due to more than a dozen years of documented rashes and Rx creams with the pannus and, of course, the medical necessity of the hernia repari. I have had rashes on my inner thighs also, but don't know if they would consider that medically necessary. The plastics office already said they usually don't request thigh lifts to insurance companies.
Any advice?
