why does BL and BA have to be 2 seperate surgeries?

I am using Dr. Capella and will not do a BL with implants at the same time?  Why is that?  I see that a lot of people get a BL with augmentation at the same time.  Is it just preference?

He probably learned the hard way like I did that in patients with damaged skin and a long breast fold (i.e. more than 6 or 7 centimeters from the nipple to base of the breast) there is a high chance of the implants "bottoming out" or dropping too soon after surgery...like in a year or less !

I am selective about what patients I will place implants in at the same time as their lift.

If the breast fold is long,  I will do a LeJour lft first and then add implants after 3-4 months once the breast has healed and is ready to support an implant..

Thank you so much Dr. L.  That makes sense to me now!  I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

My PS said the same thing. He told me he is planning on doing the BL with Aug at the same time but not to be surprised if I wake up without implants. He said he will make that determination in the operating room.

I trust my PS with everything. He is very expensive but he is quite the artist. I am almost a week out from a tummy tuck now and he wouldn't do all the surgeries together. I appreciated him breaking them up now that I am post TT.
