confused about breast lift and implants

Maybe yall can help me understand this a bit?

I had a phone consult today with Dr. Hackney's office in Dallas about breast lift and implants.  I actually called to make a consult appt. and she gave me a lot of info over the phone.  Anyway..... she told me that Dr. Hackney would not do my implants at the same time as my lift? Okay, I can deal with that.  This is were I'm confused though.......I also want a tummy tuck and she told me "combing" surgeries is good because it's less cost, and your only under once...etc. among some other things.  Well, if that's the case then why not do the implants at the same time as the lift??? So, I get my lift and tummy tuck and then I have to wait 3-6 months for the implants? That means more money, back under the knife?

Anyway I'm just kinda confused about it all.  I will def. talk to him once I go in for my actually exam/consult.  I'm not 100% sure I want implants or not.  I thought that if I did get them that they would be done at the same time as my lift?

I also asked if it was possible to get lipo and have the fat transferred to my buttocks? She said "NO" he doesn't do that?  WTH?

He's rated Top Doc in Dallas for many, many years and has been very highly recommended to me by many people?  Maybe I just got a "rude" lady?

I feel like someone spanked me and took my birthday away.....lmbo!

Some dr's feel they get better results less prob's by doing the lift first and the implant later.  Look around there are lots of them that will do both at the same time. I would advise going for several consults you will find prices an techniques vary widely.

Cheryl is correct in that some ps' do not feel that the result is as effective when a lift and augmentation are done together.  One thing to discuss with the ps is the size of implant you want.

I had a lift and augmentation done together but because of the size I chose, the lift was very minimal.

As far as the fat transfer, there's mixed reviews about the long term results.  For some the fat is reabsorbed back into the body and the results are not desireable.  Since you're not doing an LBL an gluteal autoaugmentation isn't an option.

If you're not comfortable with the answers you received from one ps, visit others.  However, each ps (other surgeons too really) have their own protocols and methodolgies for why they choose to do things the way they do them.

In the end, you have to be comfortable with your ps' skills and personality as it is a very intimate doctor/patient relationship.

Thanks for all the input.

I have 4 consults set up with different surgeons.  Like you said they are all going to be different I'm sure.  I was just kind of shocked she gave me all that over the phone and wasn't very pleasent about it? The others were friendly and just kept it short as in just made the consult and left it at that.

I def. don't have to do a fat transfer by any means.  Just something I was pondering because I don't have very much volume to my buttocks area.  As my husband says.....I have NO butt! LOL

I'm sure it was just the Dr's preference in the surgeries situation.  I had a very lengthy lift and implants, all in one (as well at the TT all at the same time).  My lift was 8" and they took almost all of my extra skin out.  The implants are on the larger size, medium profile and one has 475cc the other has 500cc.  So, it could just be the Dr's preference on what he likes to do.  My Dr. had no reservations with doing mine.

Are you happy you had it all done at once?

I had a consultation with 3 different doctors, and for the most part, they all said do the lift first and then implants. Because my boobs are so heavy, they all said I would have a better outcome. Also, the implant that 2 of them recommended was 600cc, only because my chest is very wide, so that high of a cc is very heavy, then my boobs being heavy too, they recommend doing a lift first. I wanted the lift with implants all done at the same time, but I plan on going in later to do my arms, so If i still want implants after the lift, then at that time I will do the implants.

I have seen the procedure done both ways and they all look fabulous, so ultimately its your decision, and you will make the best one for you.

Good luck with all of your consultations!

I also had my lift and implants done at the same time as an anchor cut tummy tuck. It's just going to vary amongst surgeons as to what they recommend.

Renee,

Are you happy with the results of having the lift done at the same time as the implants?

I was reading "as to why" some surgeons would rather wait 3 months after the lift to do the implants.  One reason was to prevent sagging etc.

What size and type of implants did you go with?

Thanks!
