What would you do?

I had a tummy tuck and breast lift with augmentation almost 15 months ago and a revision almost 9 months ago.  I also had my back liposuctioned 9 months ago.

I like my results, but I don't love my results.  I feel that my lower belly is not flat enough.  When I wear low rise jeans I have love handles all the way around.

I really like my surgeon, but I am wondering should I go back to him for another revision or should I go somewhere else.  I want my belly and back liposuctioned some more to try and get that flatness all around.

What do you think?  Try a new doctor or stick with the old doctor?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Depends on your financial situation along with your results etc.

I am prepared to pay for liposuction.  Both doctors charges $2,500 for each body area I want suctioned.  My original surgeon only works out of a hospital, while the other doctor I am considering only works out of his medical facility.

My biggest concern was should I trust my original surgeon, whom I really like, to fix the problem or try someone new?

Thanks again for your help.

I think you should definitely communicate with your current surgeon and explain to him your likes and dislikes. Sometimes lipo suction alone won't give you the flat appearance you are wanting because it only creates more loose skin and when that skin is compressed in tight jeans it has to go somewhere and often times it's the muffin top that results. I'm not sure if your tummy tuck had the vertical incision? The anchor cut? If not you could ask him if he thought by doing that if it would give you the results you are looking for. Depending on his opinion then you could decide if you want to try another revision with him or get other opinions.

Another suggestion is you can go to www.realself.com and you can create a profile and you can submit a question/concern and if you include a picture, all the better. Some of the best plastic surgeons in the country will respond to you with their opinion and suggestions. It's a very resourceful site.

Thank you Renee for replying.

I had the vertical cut and I thought I was flat until a couple of months ago.  When I wear my compression garment for a couple of days I get the flat appearance, but it never stays that way.  It's not the muffin top that's bothering me it's the love handles at the lower part of my abdomen.

You might need some additional skin removed along with the liposuction. I had a revision to my tummy tuck to mostly lower the horizontal incision and to make my hair line lower. When he did the revision he also extended my horizontal incision way into my hip area. That might be an option for you as well. That helps to remove and flatten out some of the bulk in the area you are talking about.
