I am most likely going to have my period when I have my plastic surgery.  did anyone else and does it make a difference with having the surgery?

I thought I was going to have mine (it ended up coming 2 days after), so I asked all the questions.

I was told that when I showed up at the hospital, ask for disposal panties and use my own pad when I get gowned up.  They would remove it in surgery, and the nurses would look after things for me until I could get up and put undies on again.

Really - they thought it was no big deal - lots of woman are in that position every day.

I was glad I didn't because it made things easier in the first few days after surgery when it was hard to get my panties off and on!! lol

I didn't, but what Erica said is correct.

Just chalk it up to "they've seen everything before."

THREE times now.....He probably thinks I'm fertile Myrtle or something.

The second time I wore a tampon to surgery (I knew I was not supposed to) and the nurses or whoever took it out.

I also had a tampon in when I went into my weight loss surgery, and was HORRIFIED  when I woke up without it, realizing someone had pulled it out, lol. Ahh the memories.

Now I realize this is nothing to the staff there, they deal with it all the time, and it's nothing to worry about.

I was due for my period the day of my band surgery.  My PCP put me on birth control pills a couple of months out, which postponed things very nicely.  I chose when to go off them post op according to how I was feeling.  Waited 5 days to stop which got me over the immediate post op hump.  Don't know if it's an option for you, but thought I'd mention it.

pretty much the same as everyone else.  I was supposed to start, they seemed to think it was no big deal.  i ended up starting on the second day after surgery.  I stil had my period cramps, thats how I new I started.  It's a little hard with the drains and what not.  I am currently holding a pad between my legs... that seems to be the easiest for me.  Good LUCK!
