I am about 5 weeks away from my Tummy Tuck with Dr Mizaheri. I am wanting to get prepared some.. is there a list somewhere of what you need at home or any tips?  I am already drinking more protein and taking a vitamin.  Also I bought a lift chair on Craigslist for $75!  Other than that, if anyone has suggestions of what to have at home I would apprecitate it!

Thanks
Jen

It's hard to stretch to high shelves etc after. One of the best things I did was set up a little basket in my kitchen, bathroom and closet with often used items to keep them at counter level. That way I wasn't always begging my family to come fetch me a t shirt or a coffee cup.

Also my binder reaches just under my breasts. I wore a cheap, comfy tshirt bra day and night for the last three weeks. Wouldn't have wanted to try to wear a regular one.

Oh and a couple of old cruddy tank tops for under your binder is nice.

Start doing wall squats now.  Seriously!!  Doing lots of squats in my workout routine helped me handle sitting in the chair and potty using my leg muscles more instead of stomach.  I didn't even need the chair lift.

I was told to stay away from Vit. E preop since it can hinder healing by promoting bleeding. My best  suggestions preop are:
Cardio
Strengthen legs with squats and lunges
More cardio!!!

Best wishes to you-

Good tips so far.  You will be so grateful you got the lift chair.  I had tummy tuck breast lift and implants oct 22nd.  The lift chair is my best friend.   Your surgeon should give you a couple binders.  You will need miralax for night before surgery and stool softener to offset pain medication.  Good luck with your surgery you will be very happy with the results:)
