breast surgery and nipple sensation?

I am 7 months out from a breast lift. My nipples are OVERLY sensitive, still. I can't allow anyone to touch them; showering can be a painful experience if the spray hits them directly; and bending over, I get zingers that really hurt.

But I can tell that it's slowly getting better; the zingers now are very mild.

I sure hope I'll be back to "normal" soon, 'cuz I'm tired of not feeling good. Even 7 months out, my incisions still hurt (and they're ugly), I still swell like crazy and therefore don't want to exercise, and can't sleep on my stomach. UGH.

Good luck.

I'm almost 3 months out from my BABL and I'm completely numb :-/  It doesn't really bother me, but I have no feeling at all.  I had a lift, so there is an incision around the entire perimeter of the nipple.  Not sure if that makes a difference.

Tomorrow will be two weeks post op from a lift.

Sensation in my right nipple has really returned in the last 3-4 days.  Today it seems almost normal.

My left nipple is still fairly numb.  I can tell a bit of temperature (cool) today but still pretty numb.

Good luck!

thanks for all of the responses.  I wondering if the chances of losing feeling are increased if you get a lift plus augmentation.  A TT for me is a no brainer but breast work is going to be a really tough call.

I did speak to Dr. LoMonaco before my bl and he said that if it was THAT important to me then not to have it done at all!  But, I really needed the lift and  took the risk anyway and within a day or 2 after surgery, I already had full sensation back.  I only had the lift...no augmentation.

I had a lift and small implants (I'm a full c), and I lost some sensation. Not everything, but some.

I'm 3 yrs out from BL/BA and mine have never been the same.  They only feel pain now.  The nerves and blood supply were never disconnected from the nipple, but there must be other nerves that run along the surface in the skin that get cut, because it's definitely not the same as before.  My scars, however, are PERFECT !!
