BE HONEST...WHAT WOULD YOU DO..???

I'm looking into having the lower body lift sometime in the early part of next year, but I've had this question posed to me...
WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE THE HOUSE FIXED UP OR WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE YOUR SURGERY, FIRST...??

My house needs some repair...plaster needs to be replaced in a couple of spots, new carpet in two rooms and the master bath redone completely..

I'm sooooo torn between what I SHOULD DO...AND WHAT I REALLY WANT TO DO...!!

WHAT do you think you would choose..and please, be completely honest...

Thanks...

cyndy

JMO, my body. My house could have used a few updates but I decided to go w/ the PS. Mind you it's not anything I can live w/o doing so don't know how bad your repairs are.

Depends on how bad the house is?  You have made adjustments to live with the loose skin etc to this point so you can continue to live with it if need be while you get the house squared away.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

I think you should get the plastics done first.  The home projects can be done here and there as time and money allows later on.  Plus, once you are healed and loving your results you will have more motivation (and hopefully energy) to have your home look as awesome as you do!

Thanks to you that posted a response to my little dilemma.

I want my house fixed up, but it's not going to fall down around us if we don't do it  within the next couple of years. It's just that my bathroom is past time for a remodel and the carpet in the living room and my bedroom is past due for an update, as well. I have been wanting to get all these things done and they really do need to be done just because it's that time. I feel selfish for wanting to put the house off for another couple of years, for that's how long it will take us to pay back the $10,500 it's going to take for my surgery (self pay).

But I really want to have my PS...I've waited a life time for a healthy, normal looking body...BUT doing the house will benefit everyone...

Just Shoot...!!

You answered your question without realizing  it.  You've waited a lifetime for a healthy, normal-looking body. Doing the house won't benefit anyone if you are unhappy.  Updating a house with things that seem to be cosmetic, i.e., there are no structural repairs required, is like buying a car.  You're happy with it for a week, maybe a month, then it becomes the norm and you don't notice that new car smell anymore.  Conversely, a lower body lift will cosmetically alter you, yes, but the most important, permanent, life-changing part is that it will mechanically alter you.  You will be doing things you've never dreamed of with little or no effort; your self-esteem will sky rocket, your health will improve even more as a result of increased activity and improved mental health.  You and your family will benefit infinitely more from all of the physical and emotional improvements in you than any new carpet or toilet can provide.

I speak from experience.  Go for the LBL!!!

Thnak you EVERYONE...!!!

I'm pretty sure the house is just going to have to wait for it's make over...(I hope that doesn't sound tooooooooooooooo selfish of me..LOL)

I got to thinking...If I wait two more years for another 10, 500 dollars, I'll be 56 years old and I need to get this done before i get ANY older ...!!   I think that's a pretty good argument..!!

Thanks, you good people for the encouraging feedback...!!!

OMG Cyndy I'm dealing with the same battle!!!! I feel sooo guilty about and my husband  make me aware . So I took out the max FSA for next year insurance so it will be coming out of my direct check and i will feel less quilty, becuase we too suould be getting some work done on the house.

I"m going to walk on Faith and Claim that this is the right deciision and God will make a way for every thing  to fall in  place for me .

GO FOR IT! You only live once be happy even if you have to do it in one room in your house..Lol

Can you use a FSA acct for plastic Surgery? I thought it had to be used for covered expenses and cosmetic surgery was excluded?

Thanks I'll be checking into this myself. I haven't sent our insurance packet in yet.
