Question for those of you who wore Spanx

I know how hard it is to get into these buggers and I am supposed to start wearing them once I'm 6 weeks out.  My question is, did you size up or go with what the size chart says?  I'm 5'7 and 134 so that puts me at a size B according to the chart.  I just wonder if I can really squeeze myself into the darn thing.  So, what did you guys do?  Thanks.

Hi Laura!

I went with the size chart and somehow, they fit. How are you feeling?

HI Shelly.  I'm feeling pretty good except for the occasional swelling days, but so far I've only had 2 days like that.  So you didn't have any trouble getting into your Spanx?  Didn't it hurt dragging those things up over your incisions?  I know I'll be 6 weeks out by the time I have to start using them, but just curious what to buy.

It wasn't easy at first and I had to go really slowly in putting in on. If it hurt the incisions, I went back to the compression garment. Gradually, it got to where i could tolerate it for the whole day. It was an acquired thing for me since I'd gotten so used to the compression garment.

Glad to hear you're doing well!

There was no way I would have gotten into Spanx and not tore my incisions open!  Also, I don't think they gave me as much even support as the post plastic garments do.

I got the 2nd stage garments online and loved them.  They also had a much nicer crotch area to go potty.  (sorry!)

they are alittle pricey, but well worth it!

That's what I'm afraid of, the pulling of the incisions.  I will be 6 weeks out before I'm allowed to go into them, but still...ouch!  I specifically asked Dr. LoMonaco about purchasing stage 2 garments and he believes they are a waste of money...go figure.  Don't you have to pull those up too since at stage 2 they no longer have hooks and zippers?  Or am I mistaken?

I used the one I started with until I was done with them ,(  about 4 months actually ) ,,,,It turned out just fine.  THE SPANK never worked for me and  were way to uncomfortable .
Just my two cents

I did spend a lot on those garments, but it was well worth it. Going potty was a breeze and wearing them to work for 12 hr nights was worth the price.  You do have to pull them up, but they are fully open at the bottom and then you snap them shut which makes the easier and I always put them over my head.  I just found that easier!  Spanx was not easy to go to the bathroom and once I got them on, I didn't want to take them off because they were such a pain to get on.

Another option to spanx which are cheaper than the garments is Flexees.  The full body flexees are excellent and I wore those also.  They sell them on the maidenfom website.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I'll probably end up ordering the Marena ones.  Putting them on overhead seems like a good option.
