Brachioplasty "fold" in armpit...

OK - don't get me wrong, I love the results of my brachioplasty.  I'm one week out.  I think they look fantastic.

BUT all the bandages came off today, and in one armpit I have a small "fold"a the point of the "L" in the incision.  It is in the "haired" part of my armpit.  SO - on top of this being a bit unsightly when I lift my arm, it will prove to be a challenge to "shave" no doubt!!

Anybody else have this happen?  Did it go away as the scar settled or did it need a revision?

I'm hoping it all goes away, and I don't need to do anything else!!

Here's a pic:

It's an L incision - although in this pic it looks like a Y.  The other arm of the Y is the fold.

I had an LBL, not a brachio, but I started with a fold near the pubic area and it did flatten out after a few months, so I think yours will too.

Thank you for your response.  Good to hear that it flattened out on its own - I am REALLY not liking the thought of a revision! ;0)  Everything else about my arm incision looks so great....

I had similiar incisions in my arm pits & it was hard to shave for a while but they did smooth out.  Once everything was completely closed up I used nair because I was afraid a razor would damage the incision.

I was thinking about going to get waxed once the incision is totally healed and seems more "stuck" if you know what I mean.  Anybody try that?

I'm tired of these hairy pits...put I'm not shaving that either !!  lol

you r only 1 week out, your incisions will change so much in the next few month, most DRs. wont evn do a revisions for at least 6 months.
I had dog ears on myTT and after about 8 months they were completely gone
good luck Susan

Good to know.  One of my hips had a bit of a "dog ear" right after surgery (very minor) and it has already disappeared.  Let's hope this fold does too!
