Anyone not wear a binder after abdominal work?

My surgeon also doesn't put his patients in a garment after surgery. He had me wait about a week and a half then said I can wear one if I want, especially when exercising. He gave me the regular velcro binder type which I wore at home but for going out  I just picked up a couple from Walmart and they worked great. Here's links to the ones I bought that were my favorites.

In fact I still wear the cincher when doing cardio to prevent swelling. It really works well. I also only wore garments during the day. I never wore one at night. I did like the added support for my muscles while they were healing. You actually seem to get a little dependant on it and I felt weird when I didn't have it on. I had to slowly wean myself off of it. lol! Hope this helps .

Thanks for all the great responses everyone!  I guess I'll follow doctors orders.  Thanks, too, for the protein advice. I haven't really been exercising b/c of back issues, but I'll concentrate on getting in a lot of protein and trying some form of strenght training.  Need to get my lungs pumplng, too.  These boards are so great!  What made me think I could get through this without all of your experience and advice.  You guys are the best!
