I had a tummy tuck two years ago.  Now I am facing having a hysterectomy due to haveing cancer in my uterus  - Has anyone here had to have to done after tummy tuck?  I have been very happy and now I'm worried it will be ruined.

Sorry to hear about your cancer.

A friend recently had a hysterectomy and it was all removed through her vagina (no incisions in her abdomen).  It was a lot easier for recovery as well as no scars.

You might want to ask about those kinds of options.  Good luck.

I had mine the reverse of yours- Hys was done in June and now just had the TT.  They did offer about three different methods, one being lap through the navel, and another through the vagina.  I did open because I knew I was having the TT anyway.  Ask about your options, they should be able to help you make the right decision for you.

Good luck BTW....I will send prayers your way.  It was a hard thing for me to do, and I didn't have cancer.  Everyone acted like it was just no big deal to hack my body up, and said that I wouldn't even know the difference.  That isn't true at all.  I definitely know the difference, but as time goes on I care less and less.  I hope however you go through it that you have a fast and relatively painless recovery.

I had LBL on April 15 and had to have small bowel surgery on May16.  It was done laperscopic.  The PS was a little concerned but said lap was better then open incision.  On Oct 4 I had a Da Vince robot laperscopic hysterectomy.   I have 9 small incisions but the surg had to be done.

Hope they get all your cancer and you have a complete recovery.
