-Lisa,
My surgeon was Dr. Vincent DiNick in Novi and I am so pleased with the results of my TT.  Because he is a BCBS provider I did not have to paid the surgeons fees up-front.  The office billed BCBS for everything but my deductible.  I would give his office a call 248-919-1100.

I had a full TT, arms and triple hernia repair...back to work part-time in 2 weeks then full time the 3 week out.  First 1 week very unpleasant but the results were so worth it.

Wow, I would love to see the letter your dr. wrote.  I am paying the additional cost myself.

Rebecca,

How did your surgery go and who is your plastic surgeon?  I'm in Illinois also and have hanging and loose skin due to a 130 lbs weight loss.  I have a reoccurring hernia which now my surgeon is hesitant to repair due to prior abdomen surgeries and he already repaired the hernia twice!  I've seem several plastic surgeons and they keep telling me that insurance won't cover and I have to self pay.  Since this is medically necessary I'd like to at least try to see if they will cover the cost.  I also have BCBSIL PPO & HMO.  Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks and congrats!

Dawn

Now I know I am like real late in reading this but here goes my question to you. I have the same health plan I believe BC/BS Federal Texas my plastic surgeons office said they were told that the Plan does not pre authorize when doing this as Out Patient Surgery only as In Patient. I was told that with the correct dagnosis codes in place that the plan would cover both procedures at one time, with the co payment being paid after the surgery like it should always be, you see the Dr. say first they submit a claim to the plan the plan covers the claim up to the co payment then the billing Dr. will send me (you) a payment due for their services. I have been trying= to get someone diagnosis codes for the same procedure as I am having and here I found them on your comment so I sent these to my surgeons office. I j=know they sent the Plan so far 70 pages of my info becuase I asked the plan to send me a letter of approval and the only way they can do that is if it is not out patient.

Each policy is different... they would not cover a TT, but they did cover my panni removal... the best thing to do is call them ask them what they cover... best wishes

I would too - I suspect it was the breast specialist who tipped the scales for most of it.  I know we were planning on loans and pulling money out of savings to cover it, and were pleasantly shocked.

Good luck with yours!
