panni removal recovery
Hello,
I'm getting closer to setting consultation appointments with a few local surgeons and
my Dr also performs panni removal (I'm only interested in having panni done, no lipo or muscle tightening, I'll never be the girl in a little bathing), so I have a few questions-
I am wondering how long you were off work when you had your panni removed?
I work in an office and have about a 1/2hr drive into work. How long before I'd be able to do the drive?
How long until you felt completely recovered?
Tell me about the pain
Did it take pressure off your back?
Thanks!
Lisa

Hello,
I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today for my panni removal, I am feeling almost 100% (just tire easy), I have no pain in the incision area and never really did, my pain came from the 2 drains I had on each side at the waist level. Everytime the tubes moved it would burn where they were inserted, That was the worst part for me honestly...The binder helped with that, It was in for 6 days, Since having it removed I am feeling really good, only thing is it feels real tight and I'm still very swollen, otherwise Im doing well.. I was driving within about 4-5 days, just be cautious how you position yourself and keep your binder on...At 2 weeks I feel pretty much recovered, just anxious for this swelling to go down..As far as my back goes, It feels alot better, I actually feel lighter and dont have the flop of the tummy skin when I walk or run LOL...Hopefully you will experience the same quick recovery, I know several have had it alot rougher but fortunately mine was pretty easy.
Goodluck~!!!!

Not sure about the anchor. Quoting Dr Livingston - "that thing has to go". He said it would be 35 to 40 pounds worth of skin and fat. No tummy tuck - he said it wouldn't do me any good and I will lose my belly button along with my panni. Which doesn't bother me at all. I was told by other staff at GHP that I will look and feel like a new man after this is done, so I'm counting on new clothes and a new look!
It is time for another DS get together. Julie was talking about having it in Ludington, but perhaps another dinner somewhere in the near future.

Chris, most men don't need the muscle tightening. You will be absolutely thrilled with having all of that skin gone. You'll be able to tighten up your abs with moderate exercise and you'll love the way your pants and jeans fit you without that extra skin. You'll never miss the belly botton with the amazing results you'll gain. Good luck!

Hi Renee,
I didn't know that most men won't need any muscle tightning...thanks for letting me know because I've always assumed I would have to go back later on to have that done. I'm very much looking forward to being free of my panni and can hardly wait until my surgery.
Thanks for the kind words and great info!

Chris, you'll love your results from Dr. Livingston. He is a great surgeon and a wonder w/ trying to minimize the scars. Faith and Glori are great w/ whatever you need in the office as well. both my rounds of PS were great at the hospital & surgery center. Kinda wish I had more things that needed to be done just to get to deal w/ them again.

Thanks Sonya...I'm impressed with all of them so far and everything has been very smooth. I know you've been very happy with your results and I know I'll be thrilled with mine too. I trust Dr Livingston completely and know he'll do a great job...I will be somewhat of a challenge for him because of the size of my panni, but he doesn't seem concerned at all.
Thanks for your post and info.
