Questions about Fat Transfer - Lypo...

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum, but a regular on the VSG forum.  I have lost almost 90 lbs, and I am intentionally below goal.  I am thrilled with how my 45 year old body has bounced back, and notice the excess skin slow being re-absorbed.  Therefor I don't think I need a tummy tuck to get ride of the extra tummy and upper thigh fat.  Going low in weight is not really an option, as I am getting down there on the BMI charts...  I think I have done all I can do on my own.

My questions are:
-  has anyone heard of or done fat transfer, where they would take the excess from my hips and tummy and put it in my boobs?
-  It sounds like an easy and 'natural' way to get three things accomplished... slimmer hips, a flat tummy and some substance back in my semi-deflated boobs.
-  Do you think it would be better to just get small implants for my breasts?  Or is the fat transfer a good alternative?
-  Did anyone that got breast implants or transfer of fat there, NOT get a lift, and are you happy with that decision, or a lift a must?
-  I would like to go up to Cancun, I live in Belize, can anyone recommend a good surgeon there?

I welcome any comments, good, bad or indifferent.  I am gathering information and have no idea where to start.

Thanks so much!

I got just the implants and am happy with the way I look. I was wearing a 34A and really didn't fill the cup. What little I did have was pure loose skin and just hung straigt down. All the PS I consulted said I should do both a lift and augment, but I chose to do just the augment. There IS a bit of sagging at the tip when I bend over.

I asked about fat transfer and my PS said no, he said he would only do that for women that have had a mastectomy, and then he would do a flap from the tummy. The diff between a flap and fat transfer is they liquidfy the fat and inject it (and I've heard that it doesn't last, the body reabsorbs it), where with the flap they cut a U-shaped section of fat and tissue from the belly area and flip it up to the breast area. It still has all the blood vessels and other tissue to help it live.

I had the flap done on my butt and the area is much firmer. I'm not sure I would like my breasts to feel that firm. I think you should get the small implants and wait to see if you think you need a lift afterwards.

Hi Barbie,

Thank you so much for responding.  I appreciate your thoughts, recommendations and experience.

I have heard a few times now, that although the fat transfer sounds ideal, it may not be the best choice...  too bad, I wi**** was perfectly safe and provided beautiful natural looking results.

I just want small breasts, but I want them fuller than they are now.  I dont' really need or want a lift right now.  I like your idea of just going for the small implant and wait to see if that will do it, and if need be get a lift in the future if I feel I need it...

Thanks again for taking the time to let me know how you feel, it is greatly appreciated.
